Copyright Notice

Everything on this site, including words and images are Copyright protected and Rights Managed.

Want to reproduce or use my images or writing? Please ask. By law, you can not reproduce these works or any derivatives of this work without explicit permission. Violators will be aggressively prosecuted.

What is Copyright?

Copyright is literally, the right to copy, though in legal terms “the right to control copying” is more accurate. Copyright are exclusive statutory rights to exercise control over copying and other exploitation of the works for a specific period of time. The copyright owner is given two sets of rights: an exclusive, positive right to copy and exploit the copyrighted work, or license others to do so, and a negative right to prevent anyone else from doing so without consent, with the possibility of legal remedies if they do. What is Rights Managed?

A rights-managed (RM) license is one where specific, defined reproduction rights are granted to the client, usually limited to a set period of time. A RM license will typically comprise a package of defined usage rights specifying size, media, purpose (eg editorial, promotional, advertising), and duration of the agreement. Get Permission First
If you find an item on this site that you would like to use elsewhere, you must legally seek permission from me prior to using it. If you would like a print of one of my images, contact me for pricing and availability. You cannot legally copy, download, or use any works on this site, whether for personal or commercial use without license.

Whether an image explicitly contains a Copyright notice or not, all material on this site are Copyright protected.

I have given permission to many organizations and users to use an image for an explicit purpose. For example, the State of Arizona was given specific license to use a group of my images on the state website. Those images may not be used anywhere else by the state or anyone else. Part of the license requirements is to provide credits back to me.

Thanks!

Dave
